We're just back from our now-annual trip to Maui...and I still think this is THE way to spend Thanksgiving! We snorkeled and kayaked (maybe a little too often for some of our vacation mates!)--saw white-tip reef sharks (don't worry Mom, they were WAAAY below us) and a couple of mating sea turtles (with a couple of curious onlookers).
This year, we actually made it out of Kihei and made a return visit to Haleakala AND a drive around West Maui (on a narrow, winding one-way road). I still don't think we'll ever go to Hana.
Some pics follow....Jen standing by the Dragon Teeth (white lava that cooled in vertical spires as the spray and surf hit it); looking over the West Maui coast; and snorkeling on our final morning on "Treasure" beach, looking past the Maui Prince.
Aloha!

Sure, rub it in our faces. Maybe if I superimposed myself into the photos, I might feel like I was on a warm beach for Thanksgiving instead of in 20-degree Minnesota. Sheesh.
